Women's rugby is one of the fastest growing sports in America. Our team has grown tremendously since its birth in 2004, and we're still growing! Several Memphis area high school teams have started, and the University of Memphis hopes to form a women's team soon. To support this growth, we're always on the lookout for new players. Whether you're new, or an experienced rugger, this page will have all the info you need to get started.
For those of you who don't know a lick about rugby, DON'T WORRY. Prior experience is a plus, but most new players have never played the game before. If you've played another sport before, you'll find that many of the skills you've learned already will transfer over into rugby - we can teach you the rest. We have many resources online to help you learn the basics, but don't expect to fully understand it until you've been to a few practices and played in a few games.
For some basic terminology and explanation of game play, check out our Rugby Basics brochure or watch our Rugby 101 video. For further in-depth information, check out any of the links on the right-side of the page.
Come out and play!! Anyone can come to a practice: see our Practice page for more information. If you have any questions, please contact our Recruiting Coordinator. You can also find contact info for our other team officers here.
